Author Guidelines

1. Scope and Editorial Policy

The Journal of Sustainable Smart Systems in Education & Environment (JSSSEE) publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research that advances knowledge in smart education, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and intelligent systems.
Manuscripts must present original work that has not been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.

All submissions are initially screened by the editorial board for relevance, clarity, and adherence to journal scope and formatting requirements. Suitable manuscripts proceed to double-blind peer review.

2. Ethical and Legal Responsibilities

• Authors must ensure that their work complies with research ethics and all relevant national or institutional regulations.
• Any use of human or environmental data should be reviewed and approved by an ethics committee (if applicable).
• Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce figures, tables, or data from other sources.
• All listed authors must have made a substantial contribution and agree to the final version of the manuscript.

3. Manuscript Preparation

3.1 Template and Format
Authors must use the official JSSSEE Article Template (available in both LaTex  and  Word).

• Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing
• Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
• APA 7th Edition citation and reference style
• Footer text (except on title page):
  “Journal of Sustainable Smart Systems in Education & Environment (JSSSEE), e-ISSN: 2979-143X”

3.2 Manuscript Structure
Submissions should follow this order:

1. Title of the Article – concise, specific, and descriptive
2. Authors and Affiliations – include ORCID IDs if available
3. Corresponding Author – name, institution, and email
4. Abstract – 200–250 words summarizing background, purpose, methods, key findings, and conclusions
5. Keywords – 4–6 keywords in alphabetical order
6. Main Sections
   • Introduction
   • Literature Review
   • The Approach (Methodology)
   • Results
   • Discussion
   • Conclusion and Future Work
7. Acknowledgements
8. Funding Statement
9. Conflict of Interest Declaration
10. References (APA 7th Edition)

3.3 Figures, Tables, and Equations

• All figures and tables must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text (e.g., see Figure 1 or Table 2).
• Figure and table captions should use bold + italic labels followed by sentence-case titles, centered under the object.
• Equations must be written in Mathematical Equation format, numbered sequentially in parentheses, and referenced in text (e.g., as shown in Eq. (3)).
• Each figure/table should be high resolution (≥ 300 dpi).

3.4 References
Citations and reference lists must follow the APA 7th Edition style.
Example references:

Procedure

• Article submission

• Decision about acceptance for review (around 2 weeks)

• Peer Review (around 6 weeks)

• If accepted, invoice is sent to corresponding author, upload of final version will be required

• When payment AND final version have been received, the paper will be scheduled – provisionally – for an issue

• Later: the page proof is announced

• The page proof will be sent (make sure you reply)

• Your paper will be published

All correspondence will be done with the corresponding author. She/he should use an institutional email address that works and check spam on a regular basis. The email address must be the same in the paper and in the article metadata in the journal.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The journal does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APC). Submission, peer review, and publication are completely free of charge for authors.
